From Innovation to Insurance: DDOR at Electric Vehicle Days 6

 ·

DDOR Insurance participated once again this year in Electric Vehicle Days 6, one of the region’s leading events dedicated to electromobility, sustainable mobility and innovation in transport, held on 10 and 11 September at the Master Center of the Novi Sad Fair.

Electric Vehicle Days brings together representatives of the automotive, energy, financial and technology industries, as well as experts and companies whose operations contribute to the development of more sustainable mobility models. Through expert panel discussions and the exchange of experience, participants addressed key issues accompanying this transition, from infrastructure development and financing to insurance and the management of emerging risks.

One of the topics featured at this year’s event was the panel discussion entitled “A New Era of Insurance – Time for Change”, which included Vladimir Malešević, Chairman of the Executive Board of DDOR Insurance. Together with the presidents and members of the executive boards of other insurance companies in Serbia, he discussed the role of the insurance industry in supporting the transition to sustainability and the development of the mobility of the future.

Speaking about electric vehicles, Malešević pointed out that the development of new technologies is also reshaping the traditional boundaries of insurance coverage. Insurance is no longer limited to the vehicle itself. New mobility models bring charging stations, cables and electronic components into focus, along with potential liabilities arising from the charging process. This creates opportunities to develop and combine insurance coverages tailored to risks that have not traditionally been included in standard comprehensive motor insurance policies.

Malešević sees particular potential in telematics and the use of data, which can help drive the development of new solutions and improve the customer experience.

“What I see as having much potential is the use of data and telematics. I believe this will bring a major breakthrough not only in how vehicles are used, but also in mobility as a whole. We are already working intensively on projects that will become visible in our market very soon. With the support of our Group, a European leader in telematics and mobility, we will seek to apply its knowledge, technology and experience and adapt them to the needs of our customers,” Malešević stated.

Throughout the two-day event, DDOR also welcomed visitors at its exhibition stand, where they could learn more about its insurance policies and test their knowledge through an ESG quiz for a chance to win prizes.

By participating in Electric Vehicle Days 6, DDOR continues to keep pace with the technological changes shaping the future of mobility and insurance. New modes of transport bring new risks, but they also create opportunities to develop modern insurance solutions, enhance the customer experience, and apply the knowledge, technology and expertise of the Unipol Group to the domestic market.
